Names Are Funny Things

One of the first things to do, according to my plan to adjust the first book for publishing, is address my characters. I have spent about a week coming up with new names, additional characters, and scenarios. Thankfully the plot, characters, and settings were all mine, but I need to change the background ideas (the root of why) for some things/people.

Part of the change that must occur has to do with developing a whole new system of origination for my rescuers. As with all people, each character has his/her own traits, which is heavily influenced by where they are from, those who raise them, and the traits/beliefs/ideas that those people (the individual/people in charge) believe are important. This is what I am thinking about when creating/writing each character.

Blurred google sheet of characters.

In order to ensure consistency, I create tables with information about each character (nerdy and proud of it). It was also necessary to note how some of the new characters link to other characters. This system is probably more complicated than it needs to be, but it works for me.
